Model 3 Performance Pros And Cons
The Model 3 Performance is Tesla’s equivalent to a BMW M3 or a Mercedes-AMG C63. One of our staffers has spent a year with a Model 3 Performance, and when we tested that car, it launched to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds. The Tesla Model 3 Long Range, according to Teslas website, is rated to have a range of 518 kilometers . Keep in mind that these numbers were obtained by testing the Model 3 in California where they have near perfect weather conditions with warm weather. The average winter range would be lower if you purchase the Standard Range Tesla Model 3 which is estimated to get 402 kilometers of range in perfect conditions.

The Standard Range Plus version of the Model 3 comes well equipped, too, with all the same standard feature content you’ll get on more expensive models. There’s a colossal 15.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the interior, and Basic Autopilotwhich includes adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoringis standard.

Warranty And Maintenance Coverage
Tesla’s overall warranty coverage is among the longest in the EV segment, but it’s disappointing that the coverage doesn’t include corrosion protection. The Long Range model includes an additional 20,000 miles on the coverage period of its battery and drive components.

Interior Comfort And Cargo
We’re not exaggerating when we say that the Tesla Model 3 has an interior unlike any other car on the market today. It’s shockingly simple inside, with nearly everything controlled by the monolithic touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. The Tesla’s low, flat floor makes for a spacious and airy feel inside. The front seats are supportive and comfortable, but the rear seats are cramped and uncomfortable don’t expect adults to be able to spend time in them. Folding the 60/40 split-folding rear seats is simple and expands the trunk considerably. The Model 3’s seatbacks fold flat, too, providing an uninterrupted cargo floor for hauling larger items. With the rear seats folded, the Model 3 provides enough room for 15 carry-on suitcases. There are also generously sized bins and cubbies throughout the cabin.

Tesla Model 3 Economy And Emissions
The Tesla Model 3 Standard Range can cover up to 254 miles on one charge based on the new, more realistic WLTP test. During our week with the car we achieved an average of 238 miles on one charge.
So how did the Model 3 fit into our life? We collected the car from Tesla in Chiswick, London. We then drove to a meeting north of London before heading to Manchester. The actual range was tracking the predicted range very accurately at motorway speeds not exceeding 70mph. However the normal situation occurred a crash on the M6 resulted in the motorway being closed. Signs flashed up delays of an hour and a half, so we left the motorway and a cross-country route home was taken. This allowed the opportunity to test the Model 3 on country roads, in the rain, with more progressive driving. The car performed impressively, with very well-judged traction control in the wet, but the 40 miles of spare range quickly diminished, eventually resulting in just 3 miles of range being left upon arrival at home.
Tesla is retrofitting its Supercharger network to provide an additional CCS connector to allow the Model 3 to use the network. It also means that for the first time you can recharge a Tesla at any public Rapid charger with a CCS connector without needing an adapter.
Tesla Model 3 Long Range Pros And Cons
The central difference between the Standard and Long Range versions of the Model 3 is the latter’s second electric motor. In addition to the rear motor, Long Range and Performance versions of the Model 3 include a front motor for dual-motor all-wheel drive.
The Model 3 Long Range will set you back about $50,000 before paint and interior options, but there are notable benefitsin addition to AWD tractionto spending the extra $10K. First off, range jumps by almost 35 percent to 353 miles. The Long Range is quicker than its little sibling, too, hustling to 60 mph in a claimed 4.2 seconds. Price And Model Range
The entry-level Model 3 Standard Range Plus starts at £37,340, or £395 per month, after the UK governments £3,500 Plug-In Car Grant. Our test car had the expensive option of Red Multi-Coat Paint . There are five colours to choose from in total: theres no cost for Pearl White Multi-Coat Solid Black is available at £750, with metallic colours Midnight Silver and Deep Blue available for £950.

What Power Options Are There
The Tesla Model 3 comes in three flavours in the UK: the entry-level Standard Range Plus, Long Range and the Performance model, each with correspondingly faster performance creds and longer trips between recharges. Even the cheapest Model 3 is faster than most hot hatchbacks, accelerating from 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds and topping out at 140mph.
The range-topping Tesla Model 3 Performance is capable of a supercar-slaying 3.1sec 0-60mph sprint and a 162mph theoretical maximum speed. The Standard Range Plus is smooth and refined, and rarely does it feel anything other than quick. In quick give-and-take driving out of town, its range will drop to below 200 miles without trying. But drive it more gently, and that rises to around 220 miles.
Weve extensive experience of the Model 3 and can report that it is as absurdly fast as its numbers would suggest. This is not a party trick, and very quickly you adapt to it and learn to drive it gently in just about any situation, reserving its awesome thrust for difficult overtaking moves. That performance really is something you keep in reserve, making the daily drive an extremely effortless experience.

The Most Efficient Tires
For the rubber, we selected the Michelin Energy Saver A/S, currently the lowest rolling resistance tire available in the 235/45R18 size. These tires are even more efficient than the Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires fitted to the Model 3 Long Range from the factory.
Weighing 22.4 lbs each, the EV01+ wheel is almost 10 pounds lighter than the hefty OEM Uberturbine wheel. While three pounds of that weight savings is negated because the smaller wheels necessitate a taller tire, the new combo tips the scales at 7.1 pounds less than the factory setup. This alone will translate into a small efficiency increase. Normally this reduction in unsprung weight would also improve acceleration, but any celerity gained here was neutralized by our eco-friendly tires lack of traction.
Range Anxiety Isnt A Thing
I have a really bad 90 mile commute for work . But the Model 3 has 310 miles of range and thats more than plenty.
Side note: A cheaper model has 322 miles of range. And the base model has 250 miles of range. Even the Standard Range Plus models range would have been enough.
Ive never had to go out of my way to charge ). I just plugged in when I got home and occasionally when at work. Its just like charging my phone.
Though people tell you that needing to charge an electric car is a huge hassle, in actuality, going to a gas station is more inconvenient. In my experience, charging has never required me to take any extra time. Whereas going to a gas station necessitates me having to plan at least 10 minutes being taken out of my day.

Fuel Economy And Real
The various versions of the Model 3 are rated between 113 MPGe and 141 MPGe by the EPA. Our test vehicle, however, managed only 84 MPGe when we took it on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test.
