Its no small feat to get all good ratings on the IIHS crash tests, but the 2022 Audi e-tron did just that. With available ratings of good, acceptable, marginal, and poor, the 2022 e-tron scored a good in every major and minor category. These include things like small overlap front on both the driver and passenger side and the moderate overlap front test. It also includes the side: original test, roof strength, as well as head restraints and seats.
In addition, the e-tron has a superior rating for both of its available safety systems, both vehicle-to-vehicle as well as vehicle-to-pedestrian. These measure things like how much a vehicles speed is reduced before a crash and whether it was able to avoid a collision. There are two available headlight variations on the 2022 Audi e-tron, and while one of them scored a good rating, the other is just acceptable. While not uncommon, this is the only blight on the e-trons otherwise perfect test scores.
All in all, the 2022 Audi e-tron is a great SUV. Its one of the only two large SUVs to win the coveted IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award and the other is the Audi e-tron Sportback. Its electric powertrain brings Audi and you into the future with efficiency and style. Plus, its comfort and controls are top-notch. If youre in the market for a luxury large SUV , you cant go wrong with the 2022 Audi e-tron.
Electric Vehicle Tax Credit Faq
How does the EV tax credit work?
At the federal level, the tax credits for EVs operates as money back at the end of the fiscal year you purchased or leased your vehicles based on a number of factors. The awarded credit is up to $7,500 per vehicle, but how much you may get back will depend on the your annual income, whether you are filing with someone else like a spouse, and what electric vehicle you purchased. For example, if you purchased a Ford Mustang Mach-E and owed $3,500 in income tax this year, then that is the federal tax credit you would receive. If you owed $10,000 in federal income tax, then you could qualify for the full $7,500 credit. Its important to note that any unused portion of the $7,500 is not available as a refund, nor as a credit for next years taxes. You may also be able to receive money back right away as a point of sale credit, but those terms probably wont kick in until 2024 at the earliest.
What electric vehicles qualify for tax credits?
As things currently stand, there is a lot up in the air right now. The second list above details all of the electric vehicles that previously qualified before the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act this past August outlining new qualifying terms for automakers. Some of the electric vehicles still qualify for tax credits if they are purchased and delivered before the end of 2022. .

Driving The 2023 Audi E
The fun thing about electric motors is that they produce their maximum thrust from a virtual standstill. So when the 717 lb-ft of torque in the 2023 e-tron S variant is applied to the ground through a standard all-wheel-drive system , it can hit 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.
Non-S models need another second or so, but thats still pretty good for an SUV weighing nearly 3 tons.
Audi has done the smart thing, though, of placing the battery pack under the floor, giving the e-tron a relatively low center of gravity, which contributes to the feeling of stability.
A standard adaptive air suspension contributes greatly to a feeling of cushioned refinement. Even with 21-inch alloy wheels, the ride quality is sumptuous. This suspension can also lift to improve ground clearance in off-road or snowy situations.
The other quality a lot of electric vehicles have is one-pedal driving. This happens when the amount of brake regeneration is set to its highest level, so drivers can slow down appreciably just by lifting off the accelerator pedal. Thats not a feature in the 2023 e-tron, sadly.

All trims feature basics like forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking , lane-departure warning , and blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning. The BSW system includes safe-exit assistance to prevent occupants from opening the doors into approaching traffic.
The E-tron’s higher trims add lane-keeping assistance , intersection turn assistance , and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centering assistance .
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not published crash-test ratings for the 2023 Audi E-tron. Still, the structurally similar 2022 Audi E-tron has a maximum 5-star overall safety rating . The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also has not rated the crashworthiness of the 2023 E-tron. But the structurally similar 2022 E-tron and 2022 E-tron Sportback achieved Top Safety Pick+ statusthe Institute’s highest safety accolade.
That is, if you get to use it. Model Y owners will find that they have to maintain a high Safety Score to access all of FSD’s functionality. Range And Charging Time

All 2023 Audi e-trons use a 95-kilowatt-hour battery pack with 86.5 kWh of usable energy capacity. That gives the nearly 5,800-pound e-tron 222 miles of range per charge and the slightly heavier e-tron Sportback 218 miles. A future upgrade that could push the range to 300 miles or more has been widely reported but hasn’t been confirmed by Audi.
To keep the battery pack topped up, e-trons use a 9.6-kilowatt on-board charger for 240-volt, Level 2 home and workplace charging. All trims come with a convertible charging cord set that can be used on Level 2 or 120-volt Level 1 household circuits. Level 2 charging takes about 10 hours to replenish an empty battery.
On road trips, e-trons can use DC fast chargers at up to 150 kilowatts. While newer electric crossovers are boasting higher fast-charge levels, a lot of today’s charging equipment is 150 kW or less. Audi’s battery management actually lets the e-tron take on power from a fast charger more rapidly than many competitors. Its 150-kW capability is enough to bring a depleted battery to 80% of capacity in about 30 minutes, adding 54 miles of range every 10 minutes.
The e-tron isn’t terribly efficient for an EV: It consumes 43 kW of energy for every 100 miles of travel, according to the EPA . The average for all EVs is 34.6 kW per 100 miles. Within the luxury crossover class, however, it is average.

Fuel Economy And Real
The e-tron SUV is expected to earn 78 MPGe combined, and the Sportback model is rated slightly lower at 77 MPGe combined. We tested both body styles on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen. The regular e-tron returned 67 MPGe and the Sportback returned 75 MPGe. For comparison, the last I-Pace we evaluated achieved 64 MPGe in the same test. For more information about the e-tron’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.
Pricing And Which One To Buy
With up to 637 horsepower and sportier intentions than the regular e-tron GT models, it’s hard not to find the RS variant the most desirable. Unfortunately, it costs nearly $40,000 more than the base model. So, we’d recommend the mid-level e-tron GT Prestige, which looks to offer the best mix of features and value.

Who Is The Audi E
This Audi electric SUV is a high performance, luxurious, 4-wheel drive, spacious, 5-seat EV.
Could it be your next family car? Of course. The e-tron is superb. It provides the quality and reliability that Audi is famous for, but at the same time moves you into the electric car experience. You can ferry your family and plenty of belongings around in great comfort. No more smelly diesel to contend with. As its all-wheel drive, you know you are unlikely to get stuck in a muddy field or on a snowy road. The e-tron also comes with air suspension which makes the ride very pleasant.
What about charging? If you go on a long trip and need to charge halfway, the Audi e-tron SUV has very fast DC charging built in. With its CCS connector, the charging rates are as follows:
- 50 quattro: 120 kW
- 55 quattro: 150 kW
Many public and motorway chargers are currently limited to 50 kW, but more and more charging points are now being upgraded which will allow the e-trons to charge at their full potential.
Will this Audi electric car be bought / leased as a company vehicle? You betcha. The e-tron is highly desirable, and its range on a single charge, especially the 55 quattro, is sufficient to cater for the vast majority of daily trips. If youre a high-ranking executive and up for a new car, time to take your Financial Director out for a drink.

Everything Is Going Electric
However, the Dodge Challenger also had its defenders.
You complainers are so predictable, regurgitated complaining, one person tweeted. I bet most of you never owned or drove a v8 Challenger or Charger. We get it youre trying to be cool, well you aint. Everything is going electric, Dodge had no choice, I welcome it.
Another tweet said that interesting considering this woke car will probably outperform any real car youre talking about.
But what is the fascination with loud car noise?
Various message boards listed some pretty hostile remarks about rudeness, shameless, attention-seeking and minuscule sexual equipment.
They just sound like power and power is fun, one person said on Quroa a few years ago. Cars are just big toys and the more powerful they are, the more fun they are. Engines that make good noises just add to the overall experience of owning and driving your big expensive toy.

The Biden Administration Continues To Expand Ev Adoption
President Biden first vowed to make the nations entire federal fleet all-electric. The White House has introduced two bills to expand EV adoption, one of which was signed by the President and includes funding for heavily expanded EV charging infrastructure.
Previously, there were rumors that the federal tax credit would be increased to $10,000. In President Bidens previous $174 billion investment plan for electrification, the tax credit was quickly mentioned as a reform. However, the summary remained vague about the reform only confirming that it will not only take the form of tax rebates but also point of sale rebates and it will now be for American-made EVs.
The second and larger bill sat within Bidens Build Back Better Act and subsequent increases to the federal tax credit, but it couldnt get past the Senate in late 2021. At that point, the revamped tax credit we all have sought was in limbo, possibly DOA. Until this past summer
